A-DIVISION LEAGUE

Dibrugarh, Oct. 4: Tengapani Football Club and Mamorani Anchalik Sports Club registered comprehensive victories in the Makum A-Division Zonal League organised by Makum Sports Association at Makum Jyoti Nagar playground today.

In the first match, a brace by striker Ganesh Tanti helped Tengapani FC blank Robarbari FC 4-0. Ganesh Tanti fired the first salvo for his team in the 36th minute, helped by a clinical pass from the midfield. Two minutes later, Ganesh found the net off a solo effort.

Tengapani dominated the first half and sat pretty with a 2-0 lead. In the second half, the Tengapani boys did not leave any loose ends for the opposition to capitalise on. Suraj Tanti scored his team's third goal off a pass from right flank in the 55th minute. Five minutes later, Lachit Gaur made it 4-0 with a strike from the left flank.

In another match, Mamorani Anchalik Sports Club defeated Jyoti Nagar Sports Club 4-2. Hiranaya Barua scored a hattrick for Mamorani in the 35th, 44th and 56th minutes. Jayanta Barua scored the fourth goal for Mamorani in the 66th minute. Jyoti Nagar scored in the 65th minute with striker Ujjal Kakoti finding the back of the net off a pass from the right flank while Amit Mura scored another for Jyoti Nagar in the 88th minute.

First division football: NESU Porompat defeated Star Club, Moirang Kampu, 7-3, in the Imphal East M. Ibobi Memorial First Division Football League at Khundrakpam ground on Tuesday. In another match, DOAK beat Khetri Iril Mapal Youth Club 7-2.
