Sudeshkumar steals show - Manipur Rifles Association shooter creates two new state records

Imphal, Sept. 26: S. Sudeshkumar Singh stole the limelight on the second day of the 18th All-Manipur Shooting Competition creating two new state records in small bore free rifle prone events at Khuman Lampak Shooting Range today.

Sudeshkumar Singh of Manipur Rifles Association fetched the gold with a record strike of 577 out of 600 points.

He broke the earlier record of 576 out of 600 held by Swamikumar Singh of SAI RC since the 14th edition of the Small Bore Free Rifle Prone (National Rules) Championship in the men’s individual 50-metre event.

Longjam Regan Singh of SAI RC came second with a score of 559, while Rajkumar Sanahal Singh of Manipur Rifles Association had to settle for the third spot with 557 points.

Other shooters of this event are Ch. Manichouba Singh with 552, A. Devdutta Sharma with 550, E. Rojen Singh with 546, L. Rajesh Singh 542, N. Indrajit Singh with 538, M. Amarjit Singh with 526, Th. Sidhartha Singh with 499, N. Sharatchandra Singh with 467, K. Praveshchandra Singh with 398 and L. Punao Singh with 355 points.

S. Sudeshchandra Singh set another record in the Small Bore Free Rifles Prone (NR) Championship in the junior men’s individual 50-metre with a strike of 577 out of 600, eclipsing SAI RC shooter Swamikumar Singh’s record score of 576.

Longjam Regan Singh of SAI RC took the second place with a score of 559, while Senyai Thongam of Manipur Rifles Association settled for the third spot with 532. M. Amarjit Singh of Manipur Rifles Association finished fourth with a score of 526.

In the Small Bore Free Rifles Prone (NR) Championship of women’s individual 50-metre event, the lone entrant, Nongthongbam Saini Devi, bagged the gold with a score of 528 out of 600.

In the Centre Fire Pistol (NR) Championship 25-metre men’s individual event, Gurumayum Shyamkanhai Sharma of Manipur Rifles Association won the gold with a score of 258 out of 300.

Ph. Khamba Singh took the second spot with a score of 256, while P. Charanjit Singh settled for the third spot with 187. W. Bobby Singh finished fourth with a score of 150.

Benjamin Papao Touthang of Manipur Rifles Association won the gold in the Centre Fire Pistol (NR) Championship 25-metre men’s individual (novices’) freestyle event.

S. Norendro Singh settled for the second spot with a score of 98 out of 300, while Rk. Budhisana Singh came third with a score of 85.

Ahanthem Bina Devi of Manipur Rifles Association grabbed the gold in the Sports Pistol (NR) Championship 25-metre women’s individual event with a score of 213 out of 300.

In the Sports Pistol (NR) Championship 25-metre men’s individual event, N. Chingkhei Meitei of SAI RC took the gold with a score of 250 out of 300, while Onel Shambanduram of Manipur Rifles Association came second with 188.
