Guwahati, May 15: St Francis Sr Secondary School and Kamakhya Hindi High School registered emphatic victories in two preliminary group league matches of the 8th Dhan Sena Sinha inter-school (uunder-16) invitation cricket tournament at the Latasil ground here today.

While St Francis routed Nichols High School by nine wickets, Kamakhya School thrashed Don Bosco High School, Sonaighuli by seven wickets. In the morning match, Nichols elected to bat first and all out for 101 in 16.4 overs. St Francis boys achieved the target scoring 105 for one in only 10 overs.

Bibhash Rajbangshi was adjudged Man of the Match for his five-wicket haul.

In the other match, put to bat first, the Bosconians were skittled out for 63 in 13.2 overs .

The Kamakhya boys romped home losing three wickets in 7.5 overs.

Salman Khan was named the Man of the Match.
