Sridhar wins

Imphal: Top seed Vinod Sridhar clinched the singles in the AITA ranking tennis meet here on Sunday, while the doubles crown went to the Delhi-Maharashtra pair of Vishal Uppal and Ajay Ramaswami. Tamil Nadu southpaw Sridhar beat fourth seed Ramaswami 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Top seeds Ramaswami and Uppal won 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 against Sridhar and his statemate Vijay Kannan in the doubles.

Guwahati: BSNL and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) won their matches in the 18th Girish Chandra Goswami inter-bank cricket meet here on Sunday. BSNL (179/3) restricted LICI to 100 for nine, while RBI rode an 129 not out by Subhrajit Saikia to post 229 for none and bundled out General Insurance Company for 64.

Guwahati: ONGC, Nazira, booked a last-eight berth in the ONGC Challenge cricket meet, defeating Hailakandi by 84 runs in Silchar on Sunday. ONGC (211/5 in 35 overs) bowled out Hailakandi for 127.
