Guwahati: The Assam Football Association has named the state squad for the Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy 31st sub-junior national football championship to be held at Mahilpur in Punjab from September 20 to October 6. Pradip Brahma and Moni Ram Boro will accompany the squad as coach and manager respectively.

ATPA soccer

Jorhat: The ATPA Shield football tournament, which has been suspended since September 2 because of bad weather, will be held at the Jorhat Stadium here from October 23 to November 5. The tournament had beendeferred after the ground was rendered unplayable.

Karate body

Guwahati: The executive body of the United Karate-Do Association, Assam was reconstituted in its annual general meeting held here on Monday. Earlier members were retained while a few new members were inducted.

Cycling

Imphal: Six BMX cyclists representing India will leave for Thailand to take part in the BMX Cycle High Performance Training in the first week of October. The six riders are Phurailatpam Haridev, K. Ronex, Borish Ahanthem, Yumnam Mukesh, Laishram Yaiphaba and Mayanglambam Gupta. Huidrom Dipen Meitei will accompany them as official.
