Bilpar triumph

Hailakandi: Bilpar XI edged past AMSU, Mohanpur, 3-2 via tie-breaker to emerge champions in the B-Division football league of Hailakandi District Sports Association. The final at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose stadium here was a keen contest on Thursday evening. Mohim Uddin Choudhury, Alamgir Hussain Majharbhuiya and Ainul Hussain Laskar scored for Bilpar in the shootout. Basia Seikh scored the only goal for AMSU. Both teams will play in the A division league of Hailakandi next year.

Kokrajhar: State Bank of India, Bhopal, defeated Kashibari Youth Club 4-3 via tie-breaker in a match of the 17th Daoharu Mungkhlong Football Trophy at Dotma in Kokrajhar on Friday.

Hosts lose

Guwahati: Jharkhand and Bengal won their respective matches of the Women’s Under-19 East Zone One-Day Cricket Tournament here today. Jharkhand outplayed Tripura by eight wickets at Nehru Stadium while Bengal thrashed hosts Assam by 101 runs at Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association Stadium.
