Dibrugarh: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd, Mumbai, on Monday sailed into the semifinals of the 3rd Oil India Challenge Gold Cup football tournament, thrashing 2 Assam Special Reserve Force, Diphu, 5-0 in a quarterfinal encounter at the Nehru Maidan in Duliajan. Mohammedan Sporting, Calcutta, will play Punjab Police in the last quarterfinal on Tuesday.

Guwahati: Delhi Public School (A) entered the semifinals of the 1st Dinendra Nath Gohain and Dharmendra Sharma inter-school (under-15) prize-money cricket tournament defeating Modern English School by 46 runs in a league match at the Dispur ground on Monday.

Soccer trials

Guwahati: The state selection trials for the under-14 nationals in Goa will be held at the Nurul Amin Stadium in Nagaon from Wednesday.

Cricket team

Guwahati: The Guwahati Sports Association will organise a coaching-cum-selection trial to name the district team for the J.K. Baruah Trophy (under-19) inter-district cricket tournament to be held in Silchar later this month. The trials will be held at the Nehru Stadium from Thursday.
