Guwahati, Jan. 5: River Rine Club registered a convincing 107-run victory over Gauhati Town Club Cricket Centre in their match of the Ramesh Barooah Invitation Cricket Tournament at Judges Field here today.

Electing to bat, River Rine batsmen put up a competitive 252 for the loss of eight wickets in their stipulated 35 overs.

Bastab Hazarika was the main contributor for his side with an unbeaten 77 off 38 deliveries, which featured 10 hits to the fence and one over the ropes.

Laxman Sikdar chipped in with 74 runs off 77 balls.

Raja Nobil Islam with 20 runs off 38 deliveries was the other notable contributor for his side.

Biky Barman, Bishal Barman and Debapratim Sarma scalped one wicket each.

In reply, Gauhati Town Club could only manage 145 for five wickets in their regular overs.

Zibran Das scored 44 runs off 76 deliveries, including seven boundaries, while Sushank Bora and Herock Borgohain contributed 34 runs each.

Nitul Ali, Arijeet Barooah and Vicky Razzak picked up a wicket each.

The remaining matches of the tournament will resume on Friday.

Marine win: Marine Club, Margherita, defeated Digboi Cricket Coaching Centre by 52 runs in the ninth Nandadhar Bordoloi All-Assam cricket tournament organised by Margherita United at Margherita HS playground today.

Body-building: Satyajit Pratihari of Odisha bagged the overall champion of champion's title of the sixth Eastern India Body-Building Championship, 2015 at Khuman Lampak sports complex.

Satyajit bagged the overall title in the 80-plus category.

Ng. Surchandra of Manipur bagged the runners-up title.

Manipur bagged the overall team champion's title while Assam were runners-up.
