J.N. BhuYan meet
Dibrugarh, Aug. 28: Tinsukia Railway Divisional Sports Club edged out Tengakhat Sports Association 1-0 in the 20th J.N. Bhuyan memorial football meet at the Tinsukia DSA playground.
The Railway team was awarded a penalty after a Tengakhat defender handled the ball inside the goal box in the 25th minute of the first half. Mridul Saikia, who did not make any mistake in pushing the ball to the net, scored the all-important goal.
Mridul and teammate Parag Chamua missed two opportunities in the first half of the match.
The Tengakhat team made some good moves but could not score as the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Railway. Tengakhat came back in the second half but all its efforts to score were futile thanks to a strong Railway defence.
