Guwahati, March 4: The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), the proposed political party of former BJP leader Prodyut Bora, today launched a search for the "right people for the right post" through social media.

Bora, in his Facebook, said they are building their state-level team for which they need competent people in various fields such as for volunteer management, membership drive, leadership development, training, policy making, communication and election analysis. He had requested those willing to contact him through his email.

Bora, an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, was the BJP's national executive member and former head of the party's IT cell. He quit the party on February 18 attributing his resignation, among others, to the party's style of functioning and "political corruption" in its Assam unit.

On Monday, Bora published the ideology document of the party outlining the thoughts that will guide the party in future. He will publish the constitution of the party this week.

Last month, Bora said if a thousand people came forward to donate Rs 1,000 per month to run the party, he would launch it.

"There have been so many responses even from Assamese people living in the UK, the US and other parts of the country. Now I am financially assured," Bora told The Telegraph.

He said after today's appeal, a large number of volunteers had responded. "So many volunteers are coming forward that my first concern is how to manage them," Bora, who sounded happy, said.

Bora, however, said there is no alternative to the old-fashioned house-to-house membership drive. "We need people for this," he said.
