Guwahati: After bagging the titles of Northeast Diva and Miss Supranational, Sikkim beauty Peden Ongmu Namgyal is heading to Poland to participate in the Miss Supranational world pageant on December 1.

Peden made it to the Miss Supranational National finals after being crowned winner of the Miss Northeast Diva, organised by Pride East Entertainments Private Limited, in the city in August. As the winner, she got a direct entry into the finale of Yamaha Fascino Miss India Diva 2017 where she emerged the runner-up.

Around 700 participants were screened for the contest from which 15 made it to the second round and eventually three were selected for the finals. Peden won the title of Miss Photogenic and was adjudged second overall, bagging the Miss Supranational National title, which gave her the opportunity to represent India at the world pageant.

Sharing her experience, Peden said, "My journey started by winning the Miss Sikkim title. Participating in the Northeast Diva contest was a turning point for me as I was groomed by the leading names in the beauty industry of the region. It has provided me the right platform to prepare for the national contest. There, grooming in different areas by former Miss India and Miss World title holders gave me the confidence to deliver my best. I am so happy that I could bring home the Miss Diva Supranational title and it was only possible because I got direct entry through the Northeast Diva pageant."

Peden said, "I am keeping my mind calm and positive. I am hopeful of winning the crown."
