New Star has edge over Titan

Guwahati, Oct. 5: New Star Club today registered a 16-run win over Titan Club in the lung opener of a triangular cricket tournament being organised by Noonmati Cricket Academy at Gauhati Refinery Sector II ground here.

Electing to bat, New Star men put up 107 runs for seven in 20 overs and bundled out Titan Club for 91 in 19.5 overs.

Dipankar Gogoi (20), Harsh (17), Chandan (16) and Kamal Sarma (14) were the main scorers for New Star. Titan’s Moon Kumar and Vikram shared two wickets each for 23 and 13 runs respectively.

Raj Ali topscored for Titan with 29 runs while Raju Das and Vikram chipped in with 18 and 13 runs respectively.

Ravi Sarma and Chandan of New Star shared three wickets each conceding nine and 18 runs respectively. Dilwar notched two for 20 off four overs.

Tomorrow River Rine Club meet Titan Club.

F. Wary opened the account in the 20th minute. He scored another goal in the 70th minu-te. Jibeswar Boro Atul Basum-atary, Issac Tirkey and Sibra Narzary were the other scorers for the Guwahati side.
