Itanagar, May 6: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu has sanctioned the creation of a police station at Thrizino in West Kameng district.

Parliamentary secretary, public health engineering, Kumsi Sidisow, the legislator from Thrizino-Buragaon, today expressed gratitude to the state government for the police station with adequate police personnel.

Altogether 49 posts have been created to man the police station - three sub-inspectors, three assistant sub-inspectors, 14 head constables, 28 constables and one police driver.

The residents of Thrizino had submitted a memorandum to the state government in 2009 demanding a police station. Another memorandum was submitted to Khandu in August last year when he was visiting Bhalukpong.

Sidisow said the long-pending demand was taken up by successive governments but materialised only during Khandu's tenure.
