Kohima, Dec. 8 (PTI): A rock band from Nagaland won the 2009 Hornbill National Rock contest. Altogether 20 bands from 20 cities participated in the concert.

OFF band from Nagaland was awarded Rs 5 lakh and a Casio WK 3300 synthesiser after the grand finale, which concluded last night.

Hypnosis of New Delhi and Kaivaalya of Calcutta were adjudged second and third respectively.

Chief minister Neiphiu Rio gave away the prizes to the winners of the contest organised by government-run Music Task Force as part of the annual Hornbill Festival, which concluded last evening.
