Imphal: Minister of state for electronics and information technology S.S. Ahluwalia on Saturday said the three BPOs coming up in Manipur will benefit the youths of the state and also improve its economy.

The minister interacted with local youths engaged in the field of information technology at Manipur Information Technology Park, Mantripukhri here.

Most of them are from the three BPOs - Cube Ten Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Unitrans Solutions Pvt. Ltd, and RK Marvin Communication Pvt. Ltd.

Ahluwalia said there will come a day when people will not need to travel as selling or popularising a brand will be done through BPOs.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's digital India programme helps the youth of the state in fulfilling their dreams, particularly of working near their hometown.

He said there were only two mobile companies in 2014 in India, but at present there are more than 120 such companies.

Before the interaction, Ahluwalia also inspected the BPO units at the Manipur Information Technology Park.

He had earlier interacted with students of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology here on Friday.
