Guwahati: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (Seba) will conduct its High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa examinations from January 22.
Altogether 35,660 candidates will appear for the matric exams this year at 852 centres across the state. The exams will conclude on March 8, said Seba secretary Prabin Sarma on Friday.
Practical exams will be held on January 22 and 24.
The theory papers will start from February 16. The morning exam will be held from 9am to 11am while the afternoon paper will be from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. The practical exams will be of three hours. Sarma said question papers will be distributed 10 minutes before the exam.
There will be separate papers for Assamese, Bengali, Hindi and Urdu for madarsa candidates. The practical exams of fine arts, IT and retail trade will be held in the same centre as theory exam.
"We have sent admit cards to the schools so that any error can be rectified. They have to resend them in the first half of January. We will send back the final admit cards just after Magh Bihu," Sarma said.
