Martyr home to be renovated: CM

Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal pays floral tribute to Quit India Movement martyr Kushal Konwar on his 74th death anniversary at his memorial at Nehru Park in Guwahati on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said Konwar's house in Upper Assam's Golaghat district would be renovated and declared a heritage site within two months. He said an initiative will taken to preserve the houses of all freedom movement martyrs as heritage sites soon.

The programme was organised by the Kamrup (metro) district administration where family members of Konwar, Gauhati East legislator Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Gauhati MP Bijoya Chakravarty, Baroda and Chhota Udaipur MPs Ranjanaben Bhatta and Ramsingh Rathowa and senior government officials were present.

An all-religion prayer was also held on the occasion.
