Imphal, July 18: Manipur outplayed Haryana 4-1 to claim the champion's title of the Junior National Women's Football Championship, 2016, held at Cuttack, Odisha.

Manipur started off on a strong note when N. Ratanbala Devi scored the first goal within a minute of the game.

However, giving a jolt to Manipur bench, Haryana scored the equaliser through Renu in the 17th minute.

The second half belonged to Manipur as N. Ratanbala Devi fetched her second goal in the 60th minute. Hemolata Devi struck two goals in the 68th minute and 90-plus-three minutes for the victory.

Women's league: Kangchup Road Youth Physical Sporting Association will take on Eastern Sporting Union in the opening match of the Pre-qualifier Women's League at artificial turf, Khuman Lampak, on Friday.

Manipur Police Sports Club will meet Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club in the second match.
