Guwahati, Feb. 23: Unseeded Longjam Brickson Singh toppled second seed Ayanav Arandhara in the boys' under-9 category while Anouksha Sinha upset third seed Diyashi Banerjee in the girls' under-11 category of the PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship at the Kanaklata Indoor Stadium here today.
Longjam defeated Ayanav 21-16 while Anoushka got the better of Diyashi 21-17 to move into the round of 16 on the second day of the tournament.
Top seeds Tonmoy Boruah and Leimapokpam Diana Devi, however, had little difficulty advancing to the next round.
In a one-sided under-13 boys' match, Tonmoy outplayed Garvit Srivastav 11-2, 11-0 to move into the round of 32, while Leimapokpam ousted Tania Bordoloi 11-5, 11-7 in the girls' under-13 category to advance to the round of 16.
The tournament, organised by Sara Foundation, an organisation for the promotion of sports, has been approved by Badminton Association of India.

Barenya Jyoti Das beat Ayushman Nandi, 21-19. Ushangsu Paul (5) beat Anubrata Duarah 21-19.
Girls' singles under-11 (round of 32) - Rikshita Chaliha (top seed) beat Krishika Kashyap 21-10. Munifa Haque beat Sanskriti Kotoky 21-19. Anouksha Sinha beat Diyashi Banerjee (third seed) 21-17. Anushree Mahanta beat Anugya Sharma Baruah 21-13.
