Nagaon, Oct. 1: If Langhin conceded an equaliser after an early lead today, its players ensured that the tie-breaker in the semifinal of the 9th Karbi Anglong inter-sub association women’s football championship went their way.
The Langhin eves made it to the final, defeating Kheroni 4-3 in the tiebreaker.
At Hamren Sports Association ground, Langhin midfielder Sanju Basumatary converted a penalty kick into the first goal for the team in the 27th minute. Kheroni striker Weli Rai equalised it through a free kick in the 63rd minute and the scoreline read 1-1 till the end of regulation time. Kheroni’s Champa Kansapi and Kareng Beipi missed two shots in the tiebreaker. Tum-preng will face Dokmoka in the other semifinal tomorrow.
