Aizawl, July 7: Led by Governor A.R. Kohli, chief minister Zoramthanga and his cabinet colleagues paid floral tributes this morning to Laldenga, founder president of Mizo National Front and the first chief minister of Mizoram on the occasion of his 15th death anniversary.

Speaking at the ceremony at Landenga?s tomb at Treasury Square, Zoramthanga said: ?Laldenga shall live in the memories of Mizos because he sowed the seeds of Mizo nationalism. His memory will last as long as the Mizos exist.

?The Indian government has made a number of peace accords, but only the Mizo Accord has been successful. Since Laldenga was the architect of the peace accord, he deserves to be called the Father of Peace,? Zoramthanga told the audience.

The Governor also gave a short speech. ?Exactly 15 years back, we lost the greatest son of Mizoram. He was the tallest leader of Mizos, who made the small community known to the world. He was a man of struggle. He wanted Mizoram to be the most prosperous and peaceful state, and his dreams are yet to be fulfilled.?

Biakdiki, Laldenga?s widow, thanked the MNF for the respect bestowed upon him.
