Imphal, Feb. 22: Imphal East claimed the overall title of the State-Level North East Games 2015-16 under the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan Scheme, which concluded at Khuman Lampak sports complex today.
Imphal West took the runners-up title while Thoubal was third.
In the men's football final, Imphal East thrashed Bishnupur 4-0 to emerge champions while in the women's event, Imphal East beat Bishnupur 3-1.
In the women's hockey final Thoubal defeated Imphal West 6-1 and in the boys' final, Imphal West cornered Chandel 9-1.
The athletics event saw Imphal East bag four gold medals, while Imphal West got one gold medal.
Kh. Romajit of Imphal East bagged a gold in the 3,000m race, N. Konungjao of Imphal East in the boys' 800m event, N. Chaoba of Imphal East in the women's 800m race and S. Meipak of Imphal East walked away with the gold in the discus throw.
Imphal West athlete S. Premila Devi claimed the gold in the 3,000m race.
In the men's weightlifting event, Bishnupur claimed the top title with 173 points, Imphal West got the runners-up title with 66 points and Imphal East fetched the third spot with 62 points.
In the women's weightlifting, Imphal West bagged the top spot with 124 points while Thoubal district took the runners-up title with 107 points and Bishnupur settled for the third spot with 85 points.
Four-a-side football: NFC Sagolband thrashed Hodam Lairembi Club 6-0 to claim the champion's title of the 1st YIC U-21 Four-a-side Football Tournament 2016. NFC Sagolband player Benjohnson struck a hattrickwhile Girish scored two goals and Bishwanath made one.
KLASA Keinou was Best Disciplined team, NFC player Kh. Bishwamitra Singh was named Best Player and host team YIC (B) player L. Loyangamba was the top scorer with 10 goals.
Birchandra football: LFA (A) Thinungei played out a goalless draw against MTSU Malom to share a point each in the State-Level 12th Under-16 Th. Birchandra Singh Football Tournament at Tabungkhok in Imphal West. KLASA Keinou were awarded a walkover after KLYC Irilbung failed to turn up.
