Shillong, May 24: A police complaint has been lodged against a former doctor of a private hospital who recently published a book.

According to the police, Sister Mary Paul, administrator of Nazareth Hospital here, lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah police station alleging the hospital administration had been defamed in a recently published book.

Sr Paul alleged that Dr Col (retd) A.A. Siddiqui, who resigned in 2010, had published a book, Trumpets from the Deep, by “stealing official records of the hospital” and also made “defamatory” remarks again-st the hospital administration.

Calcutta-based Power Publishers Swabhumir had published the book in March.

Sister Mary Paul, however, did not respond to repeated calls made by this correspondent seeking details.
