The Gauhati University Teachers? Association came down heavily on vice-chancellor G.N. Talukdar for his absence at the annual meeting of the university?s heads of departments on Friday and warned him not to commit such a mistake again. Union president A. Rahman said Talukdar had humiliated the teachers by being absent. Dr B. Borooah Cancer Institute has started a programme, Antaranga Alap, wherein cancer patients can interact with prominent personalities of Assam.
