Guwahati, Oct. 27: Guru Nanak High School sealed a place in the final, defeating Ganesh Nagar High School by 22 runs in the All-Guwahati Inter-School Cricket tournament at Dispur playground here today.
Put in to bat, Guru Nanak raced their way to 159 in the stipulated 25 overs. Manish Rai was the top scorer with 66 runs off 54 balls while Rahul Mandal chipped in with 19.For Ganesh Nagar, Dilip Rai bagged three wickets for three runs.
In reply, Ganesh Nagar fell short of their target to post 137 for nine in 25 overs. Bishnu Paswan and Abhishek Rajbhor scored 33 and 31 respectively while Khairul Islam Khan chipped in with 18. Himangshu Sharma swung the game for Guru Nanak with a five-wicket haul.
Tomorrow, Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya will lock horns with Fairyland High School in the second semi-final.
