GSA soccer meet from today

Guwahati, April 7: New Star Club will meet North Guwahati Club in the inaugural match of the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) C-division football league which will get under way at the Machkhowa Idgah tomorrow.

In the second match, also to be played tomorrow, Ulubari Club will clash with Union Star Club. Two matches will be played at 2 pm and 4 pm every day.Ten teams are taking part in the championship. Group A comprises New Star Club, Young Green Club, Prantic Club, G. Chandmari Club and North Guwahati Club, while Group B includes Ulubari Club, Wari Club, Arambag Club, Volcano Club and Union Star Club.

April 8: New Star vs N. Guwahati, Ulubari vs Union Star

April 9: Young Green vs Prantic, Wari vs Arambag

April 10: G. Chandmari vs New Star, Volcano vs Ulubari

April 11: N. Guwahati vs Young Green, Union Star vs Wari

April 12: Prantic vs G. Chandmari, Arambag vs Volcano

April 17: New Star vs Young Green, Ulubari vs Wari

April 18: N. Guwahati vs Prantic, Union Star vs Arambag

April 19: G. Chandmari vs N. Guwahati, Volcano vs Union Star

April 20: Prantic vs New Star, Arambag vs Union Star

April 21: G. Chandmari vs Young Green, Volcano vs Wari

April 23: Relegation match between the last team of Group A and Group B, final.

Gojen Kumai trophy

Sports Authority of India (SAI) training centre, Dimapur, has set up a semi-final clash with SAI Calcutta in the ongoing eighth Gojen Kumai memorial inter-SAI football meet in Sonapur near here. Dimapur entered the last four defeating Sukantanagar Vidyalaya of Calcutta 1-0 in their league match today.

In another league match, Special Area Games Centre (SAG), Namchi, beat SAG Agartala 2-1.
