Dibrugarh, Feb. 3: A five-wicket haul by left arm spinner Deepak Gohain helped Dibrugarh Cricket Coaching Centre (DCCC) bowl out Arunodoya Unnayan Samity for 156 in 49 overs in the first innings of the Rajanu Bora Trophy Dibrugarh senior division cricket tournament final at the outdoor stadium here today.
Put in to bat, Arunodoya Unnayan Samity lost wickets at regular intervals to be all out for a modest total. Phanindra Sonowal remained unbeaten topscoring for the side with 27. Gohain returned with five for 34 runs, while Gunjanjyoti Saikia took three for 31 and Elbert Buragohain claimed two for 30. In reply, DCCC were 117 for four in 26 overs at stumps on the first day. Kamakhya Saikia scored 34 and Prasanta Sonowal remained unbeaten on 38.
Under-16 cricket: Margherita Cricket Coaching Centre beat Moran Alpine by 17 runs in the Tapan Dutta under-16 cricket tournament, organised by Digboi Cricket Coaching Centre, at Muliabari ground in Digboi today.
Electing to bat, Margherita CCC were all out for 99 in 19.4 overs. Avinash Kar scored 43 and Tahir Ahmed Lashkar contributed 20.
Drashdeep Singh of Moran Alpine hauled five for 13 and Ankit Agarwal took three for 12. Gokul Rana also picked up two wickets.
In reply, Moran Alpine were all out for 82 in 20.5 overs. Ankit Agarwal scored 26 and Drashdeep Singh scored 14.
For MCCC, Pintu Gowala scalped four wickets conceding 12 runs while Pradeep Deka and Bikram Bhoumik picked up three each.
Pintu Gowala was named Man of the Match.
