Guwahati, March 7: Danik Batori and Natun Din registered contrasting victories in league matches of the seventh Guwahati Press Club inter-media cricket tournament at Latasil ground here today.

Dainik Batori thrashed Natun Dainik by 111 runs, Natun Din struggled past Janambhumi by 12 runs.

Put into bat first, Dainik Batori compiled 195 for eight in the allotted 20 overs with Parthiv Hazarika scoring 63 (7x4, 5x6), Deepak Das contributing 42 (6x4) and Purbajyoti Chutia making 20 (3x4) runs.

Amaresh Sinha and Parthiv Hazarika of Dainik Batori took four for 19 and three for 20 respectively.

In reply, Natun Dainik were bundled out at 85 in 15.5 overs. Trinayan Rajkhowa claimed four for 41, while Atul Bhuyan took two for 33. Ranadeep Kakoti (22) and Rajesh Kumar Sindhu (15) were the main contributors to the Natun Dainik scoreboard.

In the other match, Natun Din posted 129 for three in 15 overs and restricted Janambhumi to 117 for eight.

Chiranjib Sarma top-scored for Natun Din with 52, while Sasanka Gogoi and Jitmoni Sarma remained not out on 20 each.

For Janambhumi, Rabi Sarma scored 43 that comprised five fours and two sixes. Jitmomi hauled five for nine.
