Guwahati, Sept. 26: There was music. There was style. There were trends and, of course, glamorous young women walking the red carpet - all in sync in a cushy corner of a fashion store here.
The tone has been set before the main draw of a premier Glam Face hunt. And this time, the bar has been raised by several notches.
The curtains were raised for the Reliance Trends Presents t2 Glam Face 2015 to unfold at the Lachit Nagar store of retail chain Reliance Trends. Celebrity guest Rewati Chetri, one of the top 10 finalists of Femina Miss India 2015, did the honours.
Attired in DNMX, Rewati dazzled, turned heads and even stopped a few hearts for seconds as she stepped on the red carpet to do what she does best.
The glamour and glitz did not end there. For round two, in came last year's t2 Glam Face 2014 winner Himakshi Kalita, first runner-up Anashuiya Bhattacharya and second runner-up Preity Subedi. The trio sustained the tempo set by Rewati as they walked the red carpet wearing striking ensembles from Reliance Trends.
While Himakshi chose to wear a satin yellow cocktail dress from Fusion, Anashuiya wore a little black dress from Rio's Collection. Preity looked cool in a floral printed blue dress from Rio.
To complement the fashionable ambience, there was music. Abhijit Singha, also known as Gillin Abhi, performed three numbers... Dooba dooba, Lagja gale and his own number, Heart goes ting ting.
The music pepped up the curtain-raiser to one of the Northeast's unique and trendy fashion events that culminates in the selection of three best glam faces for the t2 Calendar, 2016.
The t2 Calendar launch has grown from a small but glitzy gathering at Gauhati Town Club to a grand occasion at Radisson Blu. What began as a small effort by a team of The Telegraph has now metamorphosed into one of the most prominent fashion industry platforms of the Northeast, especially with a brand like Reliance Trends coming on board.
The crowd that gathered at the outlet also got a glimpse of the 2015 t2 Calendar as the models for the month of February (Surya Baruah), March (Anindita Kashyap) and June (Chouching Borgohain) walked the red carpet.
While Surya combined the apparels of Fusion and Siyahi for a semi-Indian look, Anindita wore apparel from Avaasa. Chouching, too, combined apparels of Fusion and DNMX for a perfect eveningwear.
The Northeast cluster head of Reliance Trends, Ayushman Ray, graced the event.
The beauty contest is open for all aspiring female models from the Northeast. Auditions will be held in October from where top 15 contestants will be selected.
