Cooch Behar beat Global FC

Cooch Behar Municipality FC, West Bengal, defeated Global FC, Gossaigaon, 5-3 via tiebreak in the seventh B. Bwhwithi Gold Cup Football Tournament at Jaraguri ground in Kokrajhar district today.

FOOTBALL TOURNEY

Kokrajhar, Oct. 6: Cooch Behar Municipality FC, West Bengal, defeated Global FC, Gossaigaon, 5-3 via tiebreak in the seventh B. Bwhwithi Gold Cup Football Tournament at Jaraguri ground in Kokrajhar district today.

Ten teams from Assam, West Bengal, Manipur and Meghalaya are participating.

Rhinos in semis: Kokrajhar Rhinos, Udalguri Titans and Salbari Tigers won their respective matches of the BTC-Army Goodwill Under-19 Football Tournament, while Parbatjhora Panthers settled for a draw with Manas Rhinos at different venues of BTAD today.

Kokrajhar Rhinos, Baksa Bisons, Parbatjhora Panthers and Salbari Tigers have entered the semi-finals to be played at Bijni on Friday.

Bishnu Jyoti tournament: Darjeeling GTA FC today blanked out Pub Sonitpur Sports Club 2-0 in the third quarter-final of the 24th Bishnu Jyoti football tournament, organised by East Sonitpur Sports Association, at Napam in Tezpur.

Darjeeling GTA Football Club found their first goal in the 47th minute through striker Amit Tamang off a pass from Swean Rasaily, who pumped in another goal.

Amba Medhi tournament: Goalkeeper Daoga Brahma made two brilliant saves during tiebreakers to help Assam State Electricity Board SC qualify for the final of the Amba Medhi Football Tournament beating Assam Rifles 5-4 via tiebreakers in the semi-finals at Mangaldoi Stadium here today.

ASEB players Hitesh Hazowary, Dipu Mirdha, Daoga Brahma and Jwmbla Brahma netted their shots. Tomorrow, Oil India FC, Duliajan, face Nabajyoti Club, Guwahati.
