New rotary

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi will lay the foundation stone of a proposed rotary at Guwahati Club point on GNB Road on Sunday. The rotary will be the biggest of its kind in the city.he Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority and the public works department have set a two-year deadline to complete the Rs 8-crore project.

Foundation

Gauhati University vice-chancellor Amarjyoti Choudhury on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of an auditorium being constructed by Dispur in memory of litterateur and politician Lakhyadhar Choudhury in North Guwahati.

Plantation

The Chandrapur unit of the All Assam Students’ Union will launch a plantation drive in Greater Chandrapur during its annual conference on Thursday.

The Assam Academy of Mathematics will organise quiz and mathematics contests at its centres in Gauhati University and Asam Jatiya Vidyalaya on May 6.
