SUPER LEAGUE
Guwahati, Aug. 20: Assam Police Blues maintained their unbeaten streak in the Guwahati super division league, defeating Dynamo 4-1 in the first match of the championship round at Nehru Stadium today.
The Blues gained the upper hand in the third minute when Amulya Das pumped in the first goal, beating Dynamo custodian Gautam Majhi. Medio Lakhan Goyari enhanced the lead in the 39th minute.
After leading 2-0 at the break, striker Digen Das gave the Blues the third goal in the 54th minute.
Hariswar Rabha reduced the margin for the Dynamo in the 75th minute. However, Goyari struck again in the 90th minute, heading home a high volley from Das.
Holders Assam State Electricity Board will take on NF Railway tomorrow.

Guwahati, Aug. 20: Prangana Barua of Dibrugarh and Kaveri Phukan of Sivasagar entered the under-10 girls’ final in the Yonex Open all-Assam ranking badminton championship at Kanaklata Indoor Hall here.
Rana Barua and Mousum Bora will meet in an all-Sivasagar under-10 boys’ final, while Jorhat girl Sumana Phukan will take on Rituparna Kalita of Guwahati in the girls’ under-13 final. Rituparna got a walkover from Manmita Srikant of Guwahati in the semi-final.
Hirakjyoti Neog of Dibrugarh marched into the boys’ under-13 final. He will meet the winners of the second semi-final between Suranjan Bhobora of Guwahati and Mintu Baishya of Jorhat.
In the men’s singles, Ankur Barua (Junior) and Mithun Das of Guwahati reached the semi-finals, while Anirban Chetia of Dibrugarh and Pankaj Rajkhowa of Guwahati entered the quarterfinals today.
