Imphal, Feb. 23: Bishnupur District Hockey Association drubbed Bashikhong ABC 12-5 in the fourth Y. Rashmani Memorial Invitation Seven-a-Side Men's Open Hockey Tournament, at Kontha Ahallup, Imphal East, today.
M. Rabichandra Singh, H. Amarjit and H. Mani of Bishnupur scored three goals each. Ph. Amarjit, M. Sanjoymani and M. Bronson fetched a goal each.
For Bashikhong, Th. Tompok Singh struck two goals while N. Nishikanta, Gitaranjit and N. Ratan chipped in with a goal each.
In another match, Moral Education Intellectual Renascent Athletic Association beat Hockey Union by 4-3 goals. Th. Anthony struck twice while S. Youngson and Th. Athouba fetched a goal each. For Hockey Union, Ch. Sanjit scored two goals while Th. Kingson got one goal.
Football: TBSFA (B), Tabungkhok, beat MSC Malom 7-3 in the State-Level 12th Under-16 TBSFA Football Tournament, at Tabungkhok in Imphal West. In the other match, LFA (A) Thinungei beat YTGPT Yairipok Top by 2-1 goals.
Sepak takraw: The Sepak Takraw Federation of India has selected nine players to attend the national coaching camp at Aurangabad, beginning tomorrow, to prepare for the Asian Championship and ISTAF Super Series. The players are S. Malemganba, Ng. Jotin, Y. Akash and Kh. Niken in the men's category and the women's list includes A. Maipak Devi, O. Chaoba, Kh. Priya, Y. Nganthoi and M. Devita Devi. Th. Muhindro and A. Mahavir Sharma are the coaches.
Volleyball: The Social Welfare Club is organising the first State-Level Junior Volleyball Tournament, 2016, at Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leishangkhong ground from Saturday to March 1. Team registrations will be accepted till February 25 at the office of All-Manipur Volleyball Association or Social Welfare Club.
Veterans' cricket: Model Club (B) pulled off a six-wicket victory over Imphal West Veteran's Cricket Club in the first State-Level A. Amutombi Sharma Memorial Veteran's Cricket Championship, at Langthabal public ground. In another match at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium, Cachar Road Athletic Union posted a four-wicket win over DSU Kwakeithel.
