Guwahati, Jan. 29: The Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academies (MBTA) will conduct a six-day coaching camp at Miles Bronson Residential School here from February 1.

While conducting two sessions of two hours each every day alongside an hour of tennis-related fitness drills, the 60 participating children from the school will be coached by director of coaching operations and coaches education programme of MBTA, K. Shankar. He will be working with the children on their technique, fitness and take them through the finer aspects of the game, like strategy, match tactics and match temperament.

With the camp at Miles Bronson Residential School here, the academy will venture into the Northeast.

Arjuna awardee and two-time Asian Games gold medallist and CEO of the academies Gaurav Natekar said, “This camp is a great opportunity to spread the sport deeper into the country. We have been planning this camp for a while and are glad that it has finally happened. We look forward to building a strong base for the sport within the school and the region. With the right guidance, I am sure, we will unearth a lot of potential among the children here. Hopefully, this is the first step to a long term association.”

Miles Bronson principal Nripen Kumar Dutta said, “At Miles Bronson Residential School, we believe in providing our students an environment which is holistic in its approach and helps them realise their potential. Through this camp, we are confident that our students will benefit from the top class professional tennis coaching and go on to represent the nation in the future.”
