Dibrugarh, June 5: Nearly 96 per cent progress has been made on the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) at Lepetkata in Dibrugarh.
BCPL managing director P.N. Prasad said the cost of setting up the petrochemical plant has risen up to Rs 8,912.83 crore as against the approved of Rs 8,920 crore.
The plant will be completed by the end of August 2014 and, thereafter, a minimum period of six months will be required for commissioning.
The polymer production will begin from the next financial year.
