Guwahati: Three women from Assam, who won multiple titles at Mrs International Global 2018 at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on January 26, charmed a gathering here on Monday with their grace.

Altogether seven women from the region, who had won titles during the Mrs India International Global contest held in the city in August last year, represented India at the finals of the contest which was held in two categories - Mrs and Classic for married women. The Classic category comprised women above the age of 40.

Altogether 25 contestants from Colombia, Mexico, Borneo, China, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Phillipines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and India took part in the contest.

Ava Dihingia from Dibrugarh, who is an anaesthetist at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, was selected as Mrs International World 2018, Ambassador. She also won two sub-titles of Mrs Talented and Mrs Sophistication.

Mousumi Chakravarty Hazarika, a banking professional from the city, won the Goodwill Ambassador and Mrs Women Empowerment titles.

Manaka Medhi, a homemaker from Beltola, was the second runner-up in the Classic category and also won the Mrs Timeless Beauty title.

"These contestants went through seven days of rigorous training, hard work and early morning shoots. Their unending will to reach perfection has resulted in bringing laurels for the country,"said Mrs Goodwill Ambassador 2017, from Shillong, Nupur Saigal, who introduced the winners at a news meet here on Monday.
