Guwahati, May 12: Assam registered their second straight win in the under-15 team?s exposure tour of Ghaziabad, trouncing Amritsar Cricket Academy by eight wickets in the last group D league match of the ongoing third all-India invitation Ghaziabad Mahanagar Cricket Academy tournament today.

The Punjab outfit elected to bat and were skittled out for a paltry 52 in 27.2 overs. In reply, the Assam boys reached 53 for two in 12.2 overs.

Hailakandi medium pacer Dhrubajyoti Bhattacharjee was the demolition man from Assam today.

He ripped through the Amritsar academy top order with his in-swingers, taking the scalps of three for 14 off his seven-over quota. Bhattacharjee was adjudged man-of-the-match.

Medium pacer Arup Das, who hauled five wickets in the first match on Tuesday, and left-arm spinner Madhurjya Bhagawati shared two wickets each, giving away 12 and 15 runs respectively.

For Assam, wicketkeeper-batsman Pratik Singhal scored 16 and Rupam Nath 10. Madhurjya and Manoj Malo remained unbeaten on 9 and 3 respectively.

Assam and Amritsar academy will meet again tomorrow in a quarterfinal match.

Assam had finished a semi-finalist in the last edition.
