The police said the commando has been placed under suspension. The residents of the student’s locality yesterday formed the joint action committee and submitted a memorandum to chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh with their charter of demands.

The demands include termination of service of the policeman involved in the incident, a government job for the injured and payment of the medical bills for his treatment. The action committee threatened to intensify its agitation if the demands were not met.

The delegation, however, could not meet the chief minister. Today, they held a meeting to reaffirm the demands. Local panchayat pradhan M. Tomba Singh attended the meeting.
