Guwahati: City-based entrepreneur duo Upal J. Baruah and Daydeep Chetia have developed an app to provide an alternative to expensive coaching centres for competitive examination aspirants in Assam.

Let's Learn Together(LLT) - the app - will help aspirants for competitive exams like the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC)and other government job-related tests who have to enrol in expensive coaching centres usually in Guwahati or other towns in the state.

With thisin mind, a group of teachers and successful candidates came together to form an online community which will provide the content of the app.

Inaugurating the app, founder director of Assam Institute of Management and chief mentor of LLT, Shantikam Hazarika, said, "There's a lack of an even playing field in the education sector. Students cannot prepare for an exam without coaching. The coaching industry in the country is worth a staggering Rs 25,000 crore. This app will provide coaching services online through payment of a nominal fee. This will specially benefit those from interior places in the state."

The Android app is a complete package of video lectures, study material and previous years' question papers.

Mock tests and quizzes will be conducted via the app and students will be given scores.

Those scoring the highest in three months will be rewarded.
