Shillong, March 22: There is no need to go as far as Dhaka or Bangkok to shop for the exquisite Bangladeshi melamine tableware or for the exotic gems and scented flowers of Thailand ? at least not in the next few days.

The Bangladesh and Thailand pavilion at the seventh International Shillong Trade Fair at Madan Iewrynghep (Fire Brigade ground) is turning out to be a ?buyer?s paradise,? for Shillongites.

The trade fair, which is being organised by the Industries and Trade Fair Association of Assam, began on Friday and will end on Sunday.

Though a number of products from various countries are on sale, the Bangladeshi and Thailand pavilions continues to attract buyers like other years. Trade delegations from Bangladesh, Thailand, Nepal and other Asian countries confirmed that they had received export orders worth over a few thousand dollars.
