Shillong, Dec. 21: Traditional Garo games, food festivals and decoration of cakes marked the three-day annual college fest which began at the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India ( ICFAI) University, Tura campus, yesterday. More than 70 students took part in the different categories to compete with each other. A total number of 15 food stalls were arranged, with traditional dishes proving the main attraction. Prizes were also given away to the best stall along with the winners in other categories.

“The main objective of the fest is to enable the students to gather some experience in handling responsibilities and conducting events,” said Duggirala Sesi, centre head, Tura campus. The fest can help those studying BBA and tourism management to get a first-hand experience in team-building, she said.

“We intend to conduct such events every year and may even conduct inter-college events from next year. The concluding day of the fest that is tomorrow will consist of cultural festival, competitions and pre-Christmas celebrations,” she added.
