When Mr. Holmes Bakehouse introduced the cruffin to San Fransisco in 2014, it drove foodies into a frenzy. Though this hybrid dessert was originally created in Australia by pastry chef Kate Reid, the cruffins found mainstream popularity only after it debuted in the US market.

The flaky, buttery pastry is a cross between a croissant and a muffin and is made with baking dough in a muffin mould. You can now find freshly made cruffins in Kolkata if you step into any Blue Tokai outlet. Suchali’s Artisan Bakehouse’s menu is now available at Blue Tokai and we spotted a Sea Salt Cruffin on it. The eggless Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Cruffin features 56% couverture dark chocolate and a hint of sea salt. Try it today!
