The menu curated by chef Sabyasachi Gorai aka Chef Saby features dishes inspired by European and Mediterranean cuisines. Each item is prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The new menu includes an array of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Greek Avocado Basket, Vegan Paradise Pizza, Miso Gnocchi à la Mezzuna, Jackfruit Souvlaki, Broccoli Steak and more
The non-vegetarian options feature items like Sea Prawns Verde, Norwegian Lamb Rack, Breakfast at Vatican and more. Speaking about the new menu, chef Saby, the creative force behind its curation, said, ‘The world is turning to more healthier and fresh food. And the menus are innovation-driven here where we put the best European and Mediterranean cuisines. Many vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, sugar-free options are on the menu now. It was my pleasure curating the menu with Anjan Chatterjee, who gave me the freedom to innovate’
Speaking to My Kolkata, Anjan Chatterjee (fourth from the left), founder and chief managing director of Speciality Restaurants, said, ‘Mezzuna has always been loved in the restobar space in Kolkata. There was a request from customers, especially the residents of south Kolkata, to expand the space in South City. Previously, we could accommodate only 70 people, but now we can seat double that number, with space for 140. The new space is bigger, greener, and reminiscent of European drawing rooms. The idea for the interior came from my son, Avik’
Many popular food vloggers and bloggers attended the opening of the revamped Mezzuna. Food vlogger Jude Martin (@thefoodseeker_jude) said, ‘The space looks incredibly calming and vibrant. It’s somewhere you would love to lounge and hang out with a friend.’ Rupa Jana (@petukeshwari) said, ‘The new food menu is exciting, especially the vegan pizza, which was absolutely delicious’
