Visitors engage in a game of Brainvita. Bushra Hussain, a third-year student from EIILM, said, ‘’This is my second visit to the Kolkata Book Fair. We are playing brain games like Brainvita. Health awareness camps have also been set up. International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) has secured a spot at the Book Fair. Students of the institute are taking turns in managing the IIHM stall. Every day, they are arranging various interactive activities, all of which are an extension of their classroom studies, for the audience. From towel to napkin art and flower arrangement, each day has something new in store for the visitors. One can also enquire about the institute and its admission process at the booth

I am enjoying the experience. A lot of people are coming over to our space. We prepared towel art and flower decoration today.”

JIS Group has several educational institutes under them, including JIS College of Engineering, Narula Institute of Technology, Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management and JIS University. Students from each of the institutes are involved in the management of the JIS booth at the book fair. They engage the visitors with live music jamming, games and other fun activities which begin from 4 pm onwards every day

Santanu Mukherjee, marketing executive, JIS Group, said, “We are getting several admission enquiries from students and guardians. Student projects are displayed at the stall. We are also holding quizzes and there are prizes for winners. We have Joi products too. Joi is a part of our group as we have our own dairy farm. Lassi, dahi and paneer are available for purchase here.’’ Visitors can also check out projects by students, like non-touch thermometers

The Jadavpur University Press displays its latest collection at the Book Fair. Books in English and Bangla fill the racks of the stall. Many are English and Bengali translations of notable literary works. ‘Dictionary of the Kurmali Language,’ edited by Atanu Saha and 'Pebble Monkey' translated by Arunava Sinha, are among the notable bestsellers

Along with books are available digitally printed postcards of Samir Biswas’ watercolour paintings of various spots on Jadavpur University premises. While the originals hang in the vice-chancellor’s office, visitors can still marvel at the digital prints of the sketches and paintings which come in a set of 20 cards and at a nominal price
