Planning to add Sambalpuri silk to your sari collection or want Pipli art work to adorn the walls of your living room?
Here’s a chance to buy these and many more at the upcoming Utkal Utsav to be organised by the Odia community.
Utkal Mahila Samiti, in association with Utkal Association and two other similar outfits — Golmuri Utkal Samaj and Utkal Bandhav Samiti — will organise Utkal Utsav, an Odia cultural programme, at Tata Auditorium on Sunday.
“There is a sizeable population of Odia-speaking people in Jamshedpur. We feel that we need to showcase the cultural heritage of Odisha’s performing arts,” said general secretary of Utkal Association Tarachand Mohanty.
The morning session will see a display of an exclusive collection of handloom and handicraft items from Odisha.
The evening session, however, promises to be more entertaining. Prince Dance Group of India’s Got Talent fame will perform at the auditorium. Besides, folk dances like Gotipua and Ghoda Nacha will be also showcased on the same day. The sand animation will regale the audience.
