Punjabi dishes on platter

Ranchi, May 16: If you didn’t get the chance to savour Punjabi delicacies for a long time, this is the time to go all out.

For, the Chanakya BNR Hotel has started a Punjabi food festival, Khao Piyo Te Bhangra Pao, to tickle your taste buds from today.

After receiving a massive response from the people of Ranchi for their Hydera-badi and South Indian cuisine fests, the chief chef of the hotel, Radheyshyam Singh, came up with the idea of a Punjabi food fest this summer.

Flanked by his team of 10, Singh is at your service from today from 7.30pm to 11pm. This month-long fest would not only serve non-vegetarian dishes, but will dish out an array of vegetarian dishes also.

The visitors will be welcomed with a complimentary drink Mattha (buttermilk) or Pista Lassi. Appetisers like Shikhampuri Kebab, Chicken Bhattinda Tikka, Bakke di Kebab and Bharwan Kebab would follow.

Thereafter, people can enjoy the lavish buffet with lip smacking Aachari Mutton, Mutton Jalandhar, Chicken Methi, Fish Amritsari Tikka. To woo the non-vegetari- ans Lobia, Palak wali Dal, Paneer Amritsari would be on platter.

To complete the Punjabi experience, Bhangra music will be played at the background.

Singh, a connoisseur of Indian food, said: “I believe in the unique flavour of each cuisine, so we cook in the traditional Punjabi way gently simmering lentils in the embers of tandoors.”

And all these for only Rs 300 per person.
