Ranchi, Feb. 26: Amid speculations and predictions over the counting tomorrow, the chief minister?s chair is a hot topic for debate.

Politicians have kept their fingers crossed for the results. ?Jharkhand ka mukhyamantri kaisa ho, Subodh Kant jaisaho (what should be Jharkhand?s chief minister be like, he should be like Subodh Kant),? shouted Congress supporters at the Birsa Munda Airport this afternoon, as the Indian Airlines flight from New-Delhi touched the Ranchi airport runway.

Flanked by senior party leader R.K. Anand, Sahay emerged from the wrong gate and the party workers rushed to greet him shouting slogans.

Sahay was flooded with garlands even as they continued to shout slogans till the union minister asked them to stop. Flashing smiles, senior Congress leaders accompanying Sahay, acknowledged the greetings of the supporters.

Not far away, Bharatiya Janata Party supporters too were showing their lungpower while receiving their leader. ?Jharkhand ka mukhyamantri kaisa ho? Babulal Marandi jaisa ho,? a group burst out as Marandi stepped out of the exit gate of the airport. Marandi too asked them to stop.

Though the BJP leader tried to play safe in the presence of television cameras, he gave enough indications for speculation. When asked if he was in the race for the chief minister?s chair, Marandi said, ?The legislators will elect the chief minister?.

?I am not in the race. You can see I am walking and not running,? said Marandi, as he tried to dodge the volley of questions from journalists.

A group of party workers, however, did not seem happy with the Marandi getting all the sloganeering.

?Arjun Munda and Yashwantji?s names are also being considered,? said a senior party leader.

There were also similar responses in the Congress camps. ?Let them shout slogans. It hardly matters. The Congress leadership in New Delhi will not like to settle for a non-tribal chief minister, he said.
