Ranchi: Additional director (administration), RIMS, Harsh Mangla on Thursday directed the imposition of a penalty of Rs 5,000 on the agency that looks after cleanliness of the premier state-run hospital.
The 2008-batch IAS officer, who conducted a surprise inspection, gave the directive to deputy superintendent Sanjay Kumar after noticing that the entrance to the emergency ward was not properly cleaned.
"The additional director noticed that the floor was not properly cleaned and there was water-logging at the entrance besides betel stains and dust on floors. He looked angry and asked for the imposition of fine on the cleaning agency," a RIMS employee said.
Confirming the development, Kumar said, "The fine will be imposed on Annapurna Utility soon."
Mangla said he had also instructed the deputy superintendent to deduct a day's salary of the staff responsible for not providing donor card to a blood donor.
"A blood donor, who had donated blood on July 17, told me that he was not given a donor card. I directed the deputy superintendent to identify the employee responsible for this and deduct his one-day's salary. I also asked him to hand over the card to the donor by Friday," he said.
Mangla said he had found out that the heads of various departments were struggling to submit a proper roster on the duty chart of doctors.
"I gave them time till Sunday to submit the documents," he said.
On his other findings, Mangla said he asked deputy director Girija Shanker Prasad get administrative approval initiate repair work.
"I noticed that some ENT patients were buying medicines from the market as the nurse didn't send the requisition for medicines on time. I asked the deputy superintendent to ensure proper action against the erring nurse," he added.
