Ranchi, March 10: It was a battle scene stringed together by appropriate procedures to give it a ?real? touch.
The NCC cadets conducted a mock drill on the concluding day of the Combined Annual Training Camp organised by the 19th Jharkhand Batallion NCC, Ranchi in Namkum today. Cadets displayed the various procedures while facing enemies.
The drill was aimed at giving an idea of the intricacies involved in the war field.
As one of the cadets from Gumla, Neeraj Toppo, said, ?This is the first time that I am witnessing a battlefield, even though it is staged..?
Cadets also participated in a blood donation camp with 23 of them donating blood.
The 12-day camp witnessed a series of events for the cadetsfrom Ranchi district, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Mandar and Simdega.
NCC officials said the camp aimed at creating opportunities for the cadets to experience community living and to evolve a spirit of comradeship.
Cadets were lectured on various topics but weapons training programme got the maximum attention.Cultural events were lined for the concluding day ceremony.
Camp commandant Lt. Col. Diwa Kant said, ?The camp provided an opportunity to the cadets to experience community living. Stress was also given on inculcating the sense of teamwork and discipline among the cadets. Leadership quality of a cadet was enhanced through various sessions. In a nutshell, the camp aims at overall development of the cadets.?
