Jamshedpur, Nov. 23: The city will feast on some of the best films of the 20th and 21st centuries during the weeklong international film festival to be organised by the Celluloid Chapter of Jamshedpur at three different venues from December 10 to 16.
According to the president, Celluloid Chapter, S. Manzer Hussain, the event will be staged at three different venues, Beldih Club, Telco Club and Centre for Excellence. “Thirty films—20 from the foreign and 10 from Indian categories — will be screened on the occasion,” he said, adding the festival will be inaugurated with a Bengali film.
According to Hussain, the international section would comprise films from Iran, Israel, Hungary, China Brazil and France. The sub-titles of these films would be in English so that the audience can follow the film, he added. The theme of the festival is “Faithless faith is devoid of love,” Hussain said.
Shedding light on the event, Hussain said cinematographers from Jharkhand would be promoted during their stay during the film festival.
The idea is to provide them with a platform to promote their talent, he added.
Hussain pointed out that some renowned regional directors would be attending the film festival. Entry to the film festival has been kept free, he added.
